Oak smoked wood is subjected to a special chemical treatment. Wood is treated with ammonia in gaseous form under high pressure. As a result of this process in the cell reaction oak tannins with ammonia, resulting in a change in color of the wood. Smoked oak color has a dark brown color catching black.
